AarhusTr6
Hi all Think I have few issues on this, ie no fuel or temp gauge. Is simple test, to see if I get 10v off the I for instrument terminal?` Also if knackered is it lucas replacement or another more modern one? Thanks Rich
Mike C
I had a dry joint on mine but I've been watching this: https://www.triumphexp.com/phorum/read.php?2,1527144
Spit_2.5PI
It pulses the 12 to 14V in order to give an average of 10V. A DVM will jump all over the place while an analogue voltmeter will pulse and a small bulb will blink. Any of these will indicate operation is probably correct. (The 10V regulator is an electro-mechanical switch-mode voltage regulator!) Cheers, Richard
BlueTR3A-5EKT
This is a good 'how to do it' http://www.britishv8.org/articles/mgb-voltage-stabilizer.htm Peter W PS I see Moss Europe do a solid state negative earth voltage stabiliser. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MGB-1967-82-OTHER-VEHICLES-NEG-EARTH-INSTRUMENT-VOLTAGE-STABILIZER-BHA4602/182364759590?epid=622754100&hash=item2a75c96626:g:WdwAAOSw-jFaKoCy
AarhusTr6
Hi Just ordered the voltage stabiliser as recommended by V8. Interesting read, will let you know how it goes Rich
AarhusTr6
Hi Racking my brain cells from my apprenticeship in electrons I am considering to go for the buck step down module. It will keep the voltage rock steady regardless of the input voltage (as long as the input voltage is above 10,5V) Secondly, they are more efficient than the LM2940, meaning less heat.
