Richardtr3a
Now that I have the tickover in control, what is the advice on upgrading the drain holes in the boot lid channels. I am planning to upgrade to 15 mm copper so that it will not block up or rust. Has anyone done a repair? Thanks Richard
stuart
When replacing them on a rotted car I usually use 3/8" pipe and I have never found the need to go any bigger. Dont forget if you do then you need to make the exit holes much bigger in the inner wing too. Stuart.
mike ellis
Possible solution here http://www.tr-register.com.au/Files/technical/TR_Blocked_Drain.html
Richardtr3a
I do not know how you found that Mike. I searched before posting and found nothing. This looks like a good answer. I was planning 15mm throughout and one wing has already been opened up. So I think the cu bend and some plastic pipe will be an answer unless I can make up the whole fitting in copper. ijonsson
I made new holes straight down, no kinks on the tube.
Richardtr3a
This looks like a good idea. Is the small hose likely to block up? Who designed this in the first place. Thanks Richard
Richardtr3a
I have found some plastic tube and have made it fit by using boiling water. So now I am giving up on the new copper pipe that I had in mind.
