Fireman049
Has anyone been able to fit Daylight Running Lights to the front of their TR3A? Tom.
Don H.
I pull my light switch on to at least halfway, and most of the time all the way, any time I drive my car. The standard lights and switching work fine as my DRLs.
Fireman049
Thank you Don ~ Tom.

Fireman049
IF my 3A ever comes back on the road the Osram 'Nightbreaker' bulbs should make all the difference? Tom.
iain
No IF,s allowed. Iain
Ransomes256
I run a TR4 with LED bulbs fitted in the headlights wired to the ignition switch leaving the side lights in place. This is more in keeping with daylight running lights which are only at the front not the rear. Neil
Fireman049
Hi Neil ~ Can you let me have a copy of your wiring diagram? Many thanks ~ Tom.
peejay4A
By contrast, on my (new to me) daily driver I have just coded the DRLs to be on together with the rear lights. Scandinavian style.
Dave Larnder
Tom If I did that here in Spain, I would loose my Historic registration and my number plates. The same would happen if I fit seat belts, they say they are not standard equipment as supplied when manufactured. Dave
Mike Graham
Not a 3A, but I added DRLs a couple of years ago to my TR3. Mounted a couple of LED strips (from China on eBay) to a piece of flat aluminum stock and wired to come on with ignition. Acts as badge bar for our club badge as well. Not a great picture, but only one I can find right now. The LEDs are pretty bright head-on and of course draw very little current. Fireman049
To be quite honest ~ what's all this fuss about DRL's? (I know I started the discussion!!). Remember when Volvo's brought out their permanently illuminated sidelights very many years ago? They stood out for a short while until we all got used to them then they passed on into oblivion. Now we have Eurofartboxes who 'self park' and anticipate the road ahead conditions!! How would these 'Euro Drivers' cope with TR's???? Tom.
RUBY131
I am with the majority and always drive with my side lights on, day or night. Every little helps to be noticed. Chris.
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Tom, A kit that may be of interest https://www.tomtop.com/p-k1467.html I have the front side/indicators on my TR3A that has clear lenses and uses these bulbs white for the sidelamp and when they flash they are orange - good and bright too. Specify pos or neg earth. http://www.bettercarlighting.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=586 I have fitted them on the rear too with clear lenses amber for flasher and the white is a reversing lamp. You will need a flasher relay suitable for LED bulbs. Cheers Peter W
Lebro
These are my prefered items for LED sidelight / flasher & flasher unit. https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/collections/sidelight-bulbs/products/bay15d-1157-white-and-amber-tail-sidelight-and-indicator-combined-led-380 https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/collections/indicator-relays-electronic/products/12v-electronic-indicator-flasher-relay-classic-car-with-oe-click-x-l-p-2-3-pin & of course I make (in my opinion) the best option for stop / tail Led's for sidescreen cars Bob. Does these LEDs fit under the flat front sidelight lenses of a TR2?
Lebro
Not sure, I suspect they will, but will try to find out for you Bob.
Rod1883
Not sure, I suspect they will, but will try to find out for you Bob. If the ones you list above are the same as those you supplied to me for my TR2, then yes they do. Rod
