harrytr5
In the North London Group we have two sister TR5s born on this very day. Sean Furlong TR5 (Lulu) on production line. (Signal Red) Harry Dent TR5 (Jazz) mine directly behind. (Jasmine) What are the odds of both surviving and in NLG ? That were both white as they were not pre ordered (and the preferred colour of Triumph when not) Both cars were restored and have been used as intended with trips in Europe and many race track days giving so much pleasure to both owners. "Happy Birthday" Lulu and Jazz. Regards Harry TR5 Nutter
TR5tar
Happy birthday to both cars. My 5's 50th is coming up soon, April 29th. Time for a party I think. Cheers, Darren
Duncan Jolly
Harry, a timely reminder of the 50th anniversary of most TR5's I did not make Malvern last year but believe the TR5 was celebrated then but surely 68 was the zentith for TR5's. It would be wonderful to continue the anniversary into Lincoln this year and attempt to get a record number of TR5's together. Your tale of successive builds is an interesting one. Would it not be great to arrange the TR5's at Lincoln in Chassis sequence? Duncan
harrytr5
It all seemed rushed last year and I was disappointed, Duncan. I know the organisers had lots to fit in but major Birthdays should have more time. (Perhaps it is just me.) The fly past of the Spitfire in the last Lincoln IWE was the Creme de Creme for me and have been extremely lucky to fly in one with barrel roles and loop the loop and handed the controls to actually fly her. Can the local group do the fly past again I wonder? The chassis sequence sounds interesting but would be a nightmare to conceive. Regards Harry TR5 Nutter
TR5tar
I'm in touch with all but one (the first) of my car's previous owners. It would be great if we could all get together this year to celebrate, but it'll be difficult to arrange a time that suits all I imagine. If we can do it, it might make a nice piece for TRaction. MikeThomas
My TR5 is 50 today as well? The previous owners (TRR members) called her Lady Jane as part reg is LJA which has stuck. Built on 11 March 68, dispatched to Hollingdrake Automobile Company Limited on 26 March 68 and her registration issued on 4th April 68. So who goes for the date built or date of registration as the birthday?

John Nelson
Mine was built on 28th June so it will be 50 the day before the IWE. I’ll be there to celebrate.
Duncan Jolly
Registered 1st Aug 1968 - not sure of build date ( memo to self order a heritage cert) I do feel last year was miss-conceived as it the IWE occurred before the TR5 was launched. To me 1968 was the year of the TR5. I will be there whatever in CP2557. 2556 or 2558 anyone?

TR5tar
If we could find somewhere reasonably central for all of us, we could have a get together of our own to celebrate. Darren
Jim F
Gents, I'm planning on attending the International Weekend in late June and I'm wondering where I can find details of the TR5-centric events happening that weekend. The register site does provide some details but I'm wondering where I could find a more detailed schedule of activities. Help appreciated. I do have a TR5 (and a 250) but, unfortunately, they'll be staying in the US where we relocated to in '95. Thanks for the help.

TR5tar
Just worked out that mine is a Monday car, so hopefully the workforce were happy and refreshed and ready to do a top job. A Friday's child might have been a different matter. Darren
parry
I'm aiming to be in Lincoln as well with the TR5 assuming it's ready in time. Build date was 23 May 1968 (CP2365) so it will be just over 50 by the Lincoln meet.
