Can anyone recommend a source for meter lengths of the proper color coded wire used on the TR3s? The wiring on my 3A, unfortunately, is a patchwork of whatever was avail to make things work. Id like to correct that one day. In my spare time. Thanks, Paul

I'd be seriously tempted to invest that time in a completely new harness rather than patchwork on old crazy-quilt wiring.

If you want to retain the original loom, if it's in serviceable condition, Auotsparks do offer a loom repair service including re-braiding.

Another company which can supply all your wiring needs is Polevolt. Slightly keener prices than VWP from memory.

Hello Paul,

Having just made my own loom (With many modifications), I can offer this advice.

(1) Work out how much you think it will cost, and then multiply that figure by 2.5

(2) Workout how long it is going to take you, then multiply that figure by 10

That way you may get a vague idea of how much it is going to cost and how long it is going to take.

Even if you only do a few changes, I can recommend using an adhesive cloth tape to wrap it in.

Just look on eBay for TESA TAPE 51608 ADHESIVE CLOTH FABRIC WIRING LOOM

It is easier to use than normal PVC insulating tape, will not “Bleed” glue in a year’s time, and it looks neat.

Charlie
