Graeme Robinson
I'm part way through restoring a 61 3a and am about to install the wiring loom; with regards to the panel switch should this be a push/pull switch or a rheostat? Thanks Graeme
Ian Vincent
Mine is a rheostat. It dims the panel lights. Rgds Ian
vivdownunder
All 1961 TR3As had Rheostats (Introduced 1960). Viv
Graeme Robinson
Great, thanks Viv
TR 2100
So (can't remember now, but) isn't there an on/off panel light switch in the instrument panel? Was that deleted when the rheostat was fitted? If so, what was fitted in its place? AlanR
Drewmotty
The rheostat on my 3a goes from off to too dim at the first touch and then progressively dimmer as I rotate the knob. As a useful item it is right up there with the adjustable steering column which goes from too close to in your face???? Edited March 29, 2018 by Drewmotty
4Mal
I reckon the Rheostat is as useful as a chocolate whatever. You could always use the hole for another warning light / low oil pressure, overdrive or electric fan.....
RUBY131
Mine is 59 and just has pull switch.
