barry p cook
My engine rebuild was completed some time ago but finishing off the bodywork has been the priority in recent months. I used plenty of reassembly lubricant when the engine was rebuilt and thankfully it seems to have done it's job. I am hoping this video shows the moment of truth. I am running the engine at 2000rpm to bed in the camshaft and followers. I didn't get to 20 minutes as planned because the engine boiled after a few minutes. Although I'd tested the thermostat before I put it back in the engine it decided not to open. Eaisily sorted thankfully and can now move the restoration into the final phases. https://youtu.be/tDNXgHW4MFs Barry PS Thanks to the guidance from forum members for loading the video. Dave Herrod
Barry, Congratulations - it's a shame that the video didn't show the grin on your face. I was at the same point last weekend - it really is a great feeling when it all works. Dave
