MARK
Whilst stripping out my cr tr6 for repairs to heater plenum, I noticed a Earthing point tab directly under the steering column in front of the bulkhead on the engine side. There is a black wire on loom as it comes out through the bulkhead that obviously looks as it should have been connected to this tab. However it was not and had been earthed at some time by trapping the connector under bonnet catch!!! I must admit I had not noticed this tab before starting to sand area and sliced my finger !! What does this earth and why the strange location? MARK
rvwp
Hi Mark, Definetely an earth tag, connected to a earth spade connection that emerges from the loom in that area.. My tab had broken off and I screwed a new made up tab to the bulkhead in the same position. Can't be sure why this earh is needed without checking a wiring diagram, but assumed it would not be there if not needed. Cheers Rich
SeanF
I cant remember where I got this document from, but it gives details of all the earth points including this one which it calls the Cabin Ground Point. (Obviously from the US). Can't vouch for the accuracy of the contents, just sharing because I have it. Hope it helps. TR6GroundPoints.pdf

Hopefully will be warmer back in U.K. to continue work on the 6! Check those heater plenum drains tubes are not blocked or face a world of pain in the future !!! elclem1
Are you sure it’s not for fitting a spring return for the accelerator?

SeanF
Hi Marc, I think Poolboy was referring to the document I posted. The link he posted was to the profile of the guy who prepared it, on the 6pack site. Cheers, Sean
