Alec Pringle
Altensteig used to have a great musical tradition, I can recall the variety of classical and jazz events back in the early 70s, and again in the 90s, a rather fine choral enthusiasm locally too . . . . . does that still survive ? Cheers, Alec
Z320
Hi and thank you all for your answers, the town of Altensteig I know only from the Weihnachtsmarkt and from cruising by in summer. Its Weihachtsmarkt is only one weekend and this year it came with a wonderfull exepition at the old castel: old toy steam engines, locomobiles and trains. I already took my old steam engine out from the cellar. I still hope I´m allowed to let it run in the living room..... Tübingen (chocolade festival) is also only a short period. Oh, how I love these italian chocolatiers: carammelized orange / lemon peel or ginger, coated with black chocolade! You would like it.... Most other Weihnachtsmärkte last for 3 weeks and are open every days. Always nice to meet and speak with foreigen guest, hope to meet YOU on day. Merry christmas time to everybody Marco Edited March 17, 2020 by Z320
Z320
I did it again today, I was on the the Stuttgart Weihnachstmarkt with friends. Very bussy, not cozy at all, but nice in a different way, will be there again tomorrow with my wife. The photo shows the town hall, in the windows you see a "Advent Kalender" with the numbers 1 to 24. "See you", Marco Edited March 17, 2020 by Z320
Z320
Our last one this year, town of Esslingen. It´s very nice with its middle ages area. I love this funny folks. Edited March 17, 2020 by Z320

Z320
Was out for Christmas shopping at Stuttgart yesterday. At the "Schlossplatz" they show some illuminations of Stuttgart's landmarks, also this 300 SL and Porsche 911. Strange for Christmas, but the visitors like them. AndyR100
Looks great.... I have never been to the Porsche museum, but I did spend a cool couple of hours enjoying The V8 Hotel exhibits, there were even a couple of TR’s there at the time ....... Ian Vincent
My wife is half German and her cousins live near Hamburg. They like to visit a different Christmas market every year and when we can we accompany them. Last year we were in Leipzig and it was brilliant. This year we were going to Augsburg but a couple of health issues got in the way. Thanks for the pictures it gives me some ideas for next year. Rgds Ian
Z320
You are welcome, very nice are the smaller towns and smaller markets. What we want to visit (one day) is the Weihnachtsmarkt at the Ravennaschlucht at the Black Forest. But this year there is no snow and it is a 200 km drive for us (one direction). Too much to drive home after 2 or 3 Glühwein Cheers Marco Just looked at the webcam of Titisee-Neustadt: they have snow! Edited December 15, 2018 by Z320 Snow!
