John Culham
Hi Is the 125 manifold with the extra balance pipe and its metering station suitable for my TR250 which is fitted with a 2500 TC head ( head number 219016 ). Head has been skimmed by removing 60th and a 308778 cam fitted. Can these items be up rated for 150bhp if suitable ?
TriumphV8
The space between the inlet ports of all PIs is the same. So it will fit. The second balance pipe helps to provide all cylinders with the same amount of air even at slight throttle plate imbalance. The price you have to pay for that service is that at low revs pulsations disturb the other inlets a little bit more. I would expect that to be more theoretical than clearly to be noticed. EFI conversions sometimes use one single throttle plate with the CP cam. Idle gets rough with that but still acceptable. So I would take it and enjoy the other benefit of that item: It has a progressive linkage making it easier to accelerate smooth.
