Wind deflector/blocker.....

Recommended Posts

Considering adding one of these. Have zero experience with them though.

Has anyone installed the plexiglass one from Rimmers (picture below)?

· With the mounting brackets on this design, it appears that it can remain in position while putting the hood up or down. Hoping someone can confirm if this is true? I’m finding conflicting statements doing a search….

· Is it effective? Do windows need to be in up position.

· I think it is the same one offered here..who may be the manufacturer of them?

Another option is the net type (picture below).

· Saw this one offered from several sources…..they cost less than plexiglass

· Are they just as effective as the plexiglass ones.

· Can it be left in place when putting top up/down. Hope someone knows!

Appreciate any advice/experience offered.

Hi Bruce

I have the breezebreaker one and it works very well, don't know how effective the plexiglass type are. Yes, no problem with moving the roof up or down with it in place and they work better with the windows up.

Thanks Gentlemen.

Kevo....Looks great on you car.

Does it come with a flap attachment to keep wind coming between the seats?

The ones I listed above do. ...or do you find you even need that feature.

I like the idea of supporting folks who own and make bits for our cars. Recently picked up a reproduction AMCO armrest from a TR6 & 8 owner who makes them.

I'll have to email breezebreaker....as his site says unavailable, and he may not post to USA

Bruce, yes it has a flap which Velcros to the roof frame, which makes everything tucked up neat and tidy.

Oh and yes the flap is needed.

The Breezebreaker works pretty well and the curtain behind the seats is very helpful. However, be aware that at speed, you can get quite a lot of air pushing the curtain forward and allowing a draught to come forward between the seats. At this time of the year, that airflow will overcome anything the heater can do and you will get cold! Having a longer curtain (as I now have) helps but is not the complete answer.
