Ian Lynam
Has anyone advice regarding the correct or best paint for an original TR2 starter motor? Thanks Ian
TomMull
I think it's the same black paint that's on the motor. I use a semigloss black from a rattle can. Tom
Don H.
CPB. Standard Triumph used that finish everywhere. "Cheap Black Paint". Seriously -- go cheap and it'll be a good match.
boxofbits
I use Satin Black spray, then a coat of clear lacquer spray. Â Gives the finish a professional look and helps protect it. Use a grey primer before application. Â Kevin
Lebro
"Metal paint with rust protection" from Lidl available in aerosol, or brush on - I prefer aerosol. Not in stock all the time, but does turn up regularly. It is excellent stuff, very much like Hammerite smoothrite used to be - paint direct onto metal (even with light rusting), re-coat after a few minutes, can give a very nice gloss finish without runs if used carefully.
