art
I am rebuilding an overdrive gearbox to put in my TR4. The front end of the input shaft which enters the flywheel spigot bearing looks worn. Can anyone tell me what the correct diameter of that end should be.
boxofbits
Hi Art The spigot shaft itself is quite hard and since it runs in a phospher bronze bushing ( I believe) it is likely to wear the bushing first. Without another input shaft to compare with, your best bet would be to purchase a new spigot shaft bushing ( in the end of the crank) and the measure the ID of that, and also try it for fit on the end of the shaft. Would be better also if you can upload a picture of the shaft? Regards Kevin Edited August 8, 2016 by boxofbits
