BarryG
I'm just in the process of refurbishing the seats in a 1966 4A. I have noticed that on the right hand side of the passenger seat there is a post attached to the seat squab about 3" forward of the upright. This post looks as though it is for a 'lift a dot'. It looks as though it is original. Has anyone got any ideas as to what this is for as I am stumped and if it is not needed certainly don't want it sticking through the new seat covers. Many thanks in anticipation Barry

mgodley
Hello Barry, Any chance you could post a picture....i am planning to recover my seats, which are not original, and they not have this part Thanks Michael
BarryG
Hi Michael Sorry for the delay, unfortunately I have already removed it as I was never going to use the tonneau. If you look at the seat frame though you should see a hole for the stud. From memory it looked like a regular stud for a 'lift a dot' type stud. Barry
TR4A1965
Hi Michael. I took detailed pictures of my seats when stripping them down. You can see the tonneau stud and location clearly. The pictures are online here: http://tr4a.weebly.com/triumph-tr4a-trim.html Best Paul.
AlanG
I've got MX5 seats so I made a loop in the end of the tonneau strap and slip it over the hand brake lever. Works well keeping the flapping under control. Alan.
