ShaunC
Hi. Anyone have the 6-1 extractor manifold and single big bore exhaust system fitted who would be willing to let me come and have a look? I'm particularly interested in why the original linkage can not be used and also have a listen. I'm based in Swindon, Wiltshire.
Steves_TR6
I have a racetorations system fitted, been on since the 90's :-) It's great. You're welcome to have a look/listen, I'm in Chertsey. Steve
harrytr5
You can space out the throttle linkage by using alloy flat bar on the throttle bodies.Bit of a flaff but that is the way I did it many years ago.I also used the excellent linkage that Moss sells (around £48) that takes out the wear problem.I am now on EFI with a single butterfly now into its fifth year. Regards Harry P.S. I guess the linkage hits the exhaust pipes.
Bill944T
Posted 07 July 2015 - 07:03 PM (Y piece part number TH6003X, intermediate pipes and silencer TT5241S and fitting kit TT5201FK) I'm fairly sure that this is what I had fitted to my 1971 TR6 in around 1986. It is all mild steel and I recall having it fitted at the Triumph specialists near Liverpool and it having a modification by denting one of the bananas so that the throttle linkage would clear. It only had slip joints on the 3:2:1 parts so not completely gas tight and the large bore exhaust was straight through. It did go well and sound good but I took it off the car around 1992 when I laid it up. I've still got it, but see you are not that local! I'm not sure how to proceed in helping you, so any suggestions welcome. Regards Bill
Colin Doel
More than welcome to see mine. Standard CP linkage fits although I have recently fitted a replacement linkage from Prestige. Also I have a single bore system but the rear box is twin pipe to look more like the original. I'm near Worcester, so not too far.
ShaunC
I've recently made all new bronze bushes and fitted alternative stainless linkages so would hope to keep the standard linkage installed, it's made the set up of the butterflies very easy. I'm near Worcester this weekend Colin so that could work. Whereabouts are you based Bill?
Colin Doel
Hi Bill, Fladbury. About 10 minutes off M5 J6 or J7. I am not around all weekend but let me know when and I'll try and be around. Colin
Bill944T
Whereabouts are you based Bill? Hereford, but the topic I took my post from was started by a guy in Italy and I ended up by posting the complete system to him on trust and he bought it. Regards Bill
