ST TR5
Hi all I am collecting two engines tomorrow both have CT*****E stamped on the block so I am confident they are late TR4A engines but have dc37. b/L301435. d296 b/L301435 on the head which are different numbers to the heads of friends. Can anyone identify those numbers? Cheers Sean
Alec Pringle
301435 refers to the 4 cylinder wet liner TR engine. The other letters/numbers presumably identify particular batches, but I've not come across anyone who claims to know the logic behind the various sequences. Drewmotty
There's a good cylinder head ident guide here: http://www.tr3a.info/FAQ_heads.htm The 4a head should have the chamfered bottom on the thermostat housing and a flat section above the no 1 cylinder ports. rcreweread
Hi Sean I asked a very similar question some time ago here on this forum. Hopefully this link will take you there; http://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/52906-head-identification/ Not that it adds much more than others have reported here, but all info helps in my view cheers Rich PS Hope the link works!
