Eddie Cairns
Look how well protected against rust the New MK4 MX5 is compared to what Triumph did 60 years ago NOT. Yes this is 2015, these are new cars, these cars were over £20k. http://mx5scotland.co.uk/board/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14259 This is what we did on two new cars this month. http://mx5scotland.co.uk/board/viewtopic.php?t=14302&PHPSESSID=2aac19fc600d43db322643f09be915a4 Would you say they are better protected than a TR????????????????????? Don H.
Too bad a tall guy can't drive the new MX-5 Miata safely! Nowhere near enough room for a 6' 6" driver. Nice to know they're up to modern standards of corrosion prevention, but Triumph had better ideas for space sixty years ago.
Dave Larnder
Eddie Saw one of these new ones here two weeks ago, very nice car, but at that price! I still prefer my 57 year old TR3A and that still appreciates not like the Miata. BTW. We don´t need underseal out here! Dave
Nick Jones
That'll be why they rust fairly badly then....... Apart from the plastic splash shields and (probably) improved paint technology they don't look any better protected than our old Triumphs were. Those guys need to be spray the Dinitrol inside the box sections to make a significant difference. Nick
AlfredHitchcock
They dont seem to have covered the brakes or exhaust either. That stuff gets everywhere.
