TR 250 for sale

Recommended Posts

Seems a lot of dosh for a TR250, even in that condition. I notice it's been converted to RHD as well. Strange that there's no under bonnet pictures-is it a PI conversion or still twin strombergs, I wonder?

The interior's a bit over restored for my liking. I put a walnut dash in my GT6 years ago and it looks good with the black interior. I'm not so sure it looks so good with the tan interior though-a bit like a tart's boudoir.

Purely a subjective view of course. I'm sure somebody will see it and fall in love.

I better get my skates on and get my own 250 resto project underway before prices go through the roof.

Cheers

Alan

"Owned by an active and well known member of the TR Register". It looks very nice although one thing piqued my curiosity. The ad says it comes with a full tonneau cover to protect the unused seat when it's unoccupied. I've never seen that with a Surrey.

Can't make out if the hardtop lid is plastic or metal  .

The RF wheel's balance weights might have been necessitated by cheapo tyres rather than the wheels, or one could hope... <_<

Anyway, given the relatively modest cost to boost the performance back up to the TR5's it is logical they should approach the price point. Whether there were 3000 or 8500 made seems a fine point nowadays. Of course, both are slow by modern standards; the '250 just being even more so!

As a DCOE devotee I'd have to convert a P.I. example for regular use anyway, so the '250 is a good fit for me vs. the 5, even if the latter were LHD. Chances of finding a rust/accident free example are at least an order of magnitude, if not two, greater as well. Having said that, a P.I. example is far and away more of a thrill to find than any of the emission controlled carb versions  .

Hmm. Are 250 prices going up or down? Morris Leslie have 2 for sale in their auction on 7th March

http://www6.amstock.co.uk/morrisleslie/SaleStock.aspx?Sale=1724 estimated at £14-18k, yet they sold one in their November sale for £29,500 http://www.morrisleslie.com/results-08-11-14.html

The green one seems to have a badge missing from the boot…..

The TR250 I put up for sale through a local outfit.. The steel hardtop is vinyl covered (not by me).

The description is car salesman talk, - there is no tonneau, wire wheels are 72 spoke etc. I sent a correction but to no avail.

Here is a picture of under the bonnet http://s868.photobucket.com/user/ThamesValleyTRs/media/P1000918_zpsmw1qp2us.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3

I think you have the wrong TR250, mine has wire wheels and for information on Goodyear NCTs. It is being sold by a dealer on commission.

I think it may be one of those auctions where they put ludicrously low estimates to get people along and then everything sells for way over. Some of the non-TR estimates also look very light. It looks good in the advertising if lots sell for a big percentage over estimate. As I mentioned above last year they sold a 250 for nearly 30k so they must have an idea of their value.

Brown Marina looked immaculate. Well worth 2.5k......

The green TR250 looked as though it hadn't had much TLC since its 'nut and bolt restoration'. Odd bits of surface rust here and there. The red 250 looked more original although it was missing its VIN plate as was the TR6. Not sure how you register it without a VIN???

Hi all

I've recently joined the TR Register and want a TR5 or alternatively a TR250?

I have been drooling over this particular Car since December of last year and have had E-Mail correspondance with Imageautomotive about a possible Part Swop with Cash top up for my A1 Condition Triumph Vitesse Convertible?

Alas I never got a reply :(

Robin Can you tell me some of the History of the car or alternatively send me a Personal message with the details on how long you have owned it, work carried out, etc?

Regards

Gary
