Motorsport Mickey
Looking good Nick, whilst it's in that condition why not take the opportunity and rivet and seal an alloy firewall in front of the fuel tank for the safety of you and yours. Available from many of the TR specialists not a lot of money, probably £60 quidish. Mick Richards
graeme
That looks great Nick, what colour is it? Cheers Graeme
alanwcoote
Morning gents My 250 is the other car that John has done recently, some of you are aware the original job done approx a year ago had issues and I was not prepared to use the same shop again . John came along and was happy to take the job on, the car now looks as it should have done in the first place. Another happy customer. Niks car is still some way off completion , mine is on the road and I would be happy to for anyone to view, Johns details will shortly go up in the suppliers / links part of web site mean time PM me or phone for any info. Happy to try and help a good lad establish himself in business Patch
capslow
Thanks for the compliments lads good idea for the fire wall. The colour I choose originally was royal blue (got the number out of the book). John painted the tub in the spray booth. I thought it looked good , but once it was taken out into the sun light it looked too purple, so hence the call to stuart . He put me in touch with Ken and now it's stuarts blue. Not so much purple and i'm much happier now. How's it going Dave are you going to stoneleigh? I'm looking for lights front and back you haven't got any spares have you? Hope to see you there mate cheers Nick
Barry911
Looks wonderful, and I'm really fussy! Over on DDK (classic Porsches) we've had any number of questions over sensibly priced re sprays. Usually they come out at £8-10,000, although in fairness this is to take a bare metal shell, and do all of the epoxy coating, sealing, under sealing and all sorts of detailing. Nevertheless, there's often a call for something a bit more 'accessible' without cutting corners. I'll bare this in mind, as people always are asking me (since I do the metal). Interesting comment on the colour Nick. Back in the early '90's I did my first 4 in Royal blue (not correct for the year, IIRC, but was for a 4A I think). It looked fabulous in the workshop, and as it was my first full re spray I was chuffed to bits (sure it would look awful by modern standards). Anyway, after a few weekends and evenings of colour sanding and mopping, I eventually wheeled it outside. In the sun it turned from a lovely deep rich blue to a very purple'ish blue. It was actually a really nice colour, but definitely not correct. I flatted the whole thing off, and got another few litres of a different brand from same supplier for free, and redid it all again. Proper blue. Anyway, lovely paint jobs, and lovely project cars!

Not going to Stoneleigh Im afraid. Stuart.
