Removing the extension fan hub on a 1967 TR4A engine rebuild

Recommended Posts

I am rebuilding my engine out of my TR4A. I am disassembling and ran into the extension fan hub not wanting to release from the fan hub.

It appears that the extension fan hub is rusted to the fan hub pulley?

This is not the original engine the car came with. My hub extension is solid with a square peg where the plastic fan mounts.

Hi and welcome to the TR Forum.

Have you removed the large bolt through the extension that holds the assembly to the crank? Assuming you have, then plenty of penetrating oil and gently tapping sideways on the extension while holding the hub in a vice or similar.

Cheers

Two posts, so a very warm welcome here! (Since you're from Minnesota, I think you can use some warmth :D )

Please show us some pics of the job you're tackling. For posting a large amount of pics, it is best to use a Photobucket, Flickr or Picasa account.
