peterm
So !! What's so special about the Head Gaskets supplied by SC Parts Group Ltd that they want to charge £129. (re: advert in November issue of Traction & on line) I await answers with baited breath. Cheers, Peter

Alec Pringle
Crafted from carefully refined unobtainium extracted from the fabled junkstier mines ? Cheers Alec
snowric
They are made from recycled TR5 steering wheels and pure Green my lord.
Ian Vincent
They may be solid copper. A solid copper head gasket from Revington costs about £100. You need one if your head has been over skimmed. Rgds Ian
BrianC
Ad says it's composite 'sandwich construction', so not solid. Incidentally, does anyone know why no-one supplies 83mm head gaskets nowadays? My experiences with fitting 86mm gaskets in a 1991cc engine invariably ended in premature failure. The extra width between bores really seemed to make a difference. I still have a few of the 83mm gaskets which I'll never need as I have upgraded to 2138cc so maybe these are worth saving as valuable antiques to be sold when I need to go into a rest home! (I doubt anyone would pay £129 each for them though)
silverfox4
I wonder if it is the same head gasket offered by bpnorthwest e.g. p/n AE330G @$58.52 - big difference if it is?
Stanpartmanpartwolf
Cometic, USA manufactured, & already available in the UK for ca. £85. Unusable in motorsport due to fundamental design flaws, & offers no advantage over OEM or solid copper for street engines. Stick with those; the steel gaskets are no longer up to spec since the proper tooling vanished.
