I wonder if this still exists...

 

Unfortunately I cannot remember the registration or commission numbers. But here we go....

 

I owned it around 1980.

It was painted Saab green.

Came from a garage in Grimsby.

Fitted with stage 11 head, 42 DCOE Webbers and a 4 branch.

I removed this engine and fitted a TR2 unit with 3a head on SUs.

The overdrive gearbox used to slip out of top gear occaisionally.

I sold it in 1981 and shortly afterwards it was rear ended in Lincoln but I believe it was repaired.

 

My memories of it was that with the original engine set up it was a fast car for its day.

I'm more interested in what you have to do to get the head up to stage Eleven !

3" inlet valves, 1/2" head skim, quadruple valve springs, ports roughed up a bit to improve turbulence and a coat of tartan paint.
