Denis
Watched a repeat Top Gear last night...Clarkson, Hammond and May were all driving Classic British Sports Cars in a Challenge against an original VW Golf GTI...apparently the car that dealt the death blow to the British Sports Car industry by creating the 'Hot-Hatch' revolution! The 3 Sports cars, (sadly none were TR's) were a Lotus, Jenson Healey and a TVR all of which saw off the various challenges against the VW box! The programme ends with 24 differant British Sports Cars (inc a Red TR6) all looking marvelous displayed in the now abandoned TVR factory. Clarkson ended with the words... "There are of course good reasons why all these great names have gone...But after travelling the width of Britain we really couldn't remember what they were!"
