Members Chat - "protected forum"

Recommended Posts

I've just discovered a new forum !!!!

It's called Members Chat.

Never bothered looking in it before as it always says 'protected forum' (and still does) whether I'm signed in or not, unlike some of the others which are only protected when not signed in.

Is it just me?

Jerry, if you are not signed in I dont think you even see the members only forums. If you do sign in you see At the Bar and can enter that forum as a forum member. The members only forum is really a "TR Register members only" forum so that still says that it is a protected forum but will let you in if you are recognized by the system as a TR Register member.

It lets you in, but if 'the system' knows that I am a TRR member, I don't understand why the last posting isn't shown instead of 'protected forum'.

I asked the question when the new format first appeared but was told that it couldn't be done, even though I sent a link to another forum that I use (and which runs on the same platform), where it is done!

Still it's only a minor irritation so I'm not losing any sleep over it .....

I am a TRR member, but even when signed in to the Forum, I can't get into the Members Chat area. What to do next?

Terry

Your forum ID doesn't show the blue badge for TRR membership, so the office hasn't made the connection between your membership and your forum ID. They'll normally sweep these all together every month or so. If you've been a member longer than that, it's probably a good idea to call or email the office to tickle them. They'll get you set up no worries.

The flag on your forum account confirming you are a TRR member probably been missed - just drop a note to the office-folk who should be able to resolve it for you :
