Ade_TR6
Started the beast yesterday after a reasonable lay up of 9 months. I expected the usual faff of cranking for 30 seconds until she started but yesterday no joy... So, through the usual things, have I got a spark - check. Are all the injectors pressurised - no, one leaking and dripping so a quick strip down of the offending unit and replace the 'o' ring in the nose and bingo so now - check. Still no sign of life. At this point, being an engineer by trade, the usual complicated scenarios start binging into the old grey matter as to what is up. Anyway, by this time the cranking speed is a little slow so back to basics - get some juice into the battery. 3 hours on the fast charger and I couldn't wait longer. Key in the ignition, choke out, bit of gas and bingo. Blast round the block and pulling like a train and all is right in the world.

kcsun
Petrol is rubbish these days, I wonder if yours had "gone off" after being laid up for 9 months, it may have been 'watered down" in the pipes feeding the PI and once you had improved the spark it was enough to get the car started. Then you pulled some better fuel through as you went on your trip round the block. KC
peejay4A
More likely is that the battery voltage was dipping too low during cranking to allow the fuel pump to deliver sufficient pressure. I've had that happen.
