When you shut the door on the TR, you can hear the door glass wobble around loudly if it's completely wound down. However if the glass is wound up a bit (or fully), it doesn't shake inside the door shell.

I've had a look inside the door cavity (without taking the interior panel off) and can see that there is a rubber guide in the channel at the rear of the door glass.

Could it be that this is worn so much there's free play, or is it likely to be another issue?

There is also a plastic guide at the top of the rail that wears but can be pinched to fit. To do this you need to remove door skin and loosen the window mechanism as well as the window guide rails. All well described here : http://tr6.danielsonfamily.org/WindowChannel.htm

I was assuming he meant the door card - lost in translation perhaps? :D

True :)

The channels that the glass slide in have felt in them. Chances are that they are worn/missing/bald and no longer doing there job. You can remove these channels quite easily ( the glass stays in the door) and re-do the felt using the soft half of velcro strip - works a treat. At the same time you can more easily pinch the plastic(nylon?) guides mentioned by Inge.

Did both of mine in less than 2 hours - no more rattling glass.......just other things!
