BillS
I need to replace the original style demister tubes on the 3A, basically they are coming apart, and appear to be made of paper and tin foil. Has anyone found a more durable substitute? I was thinking of plastic expanding tube supported by wire coil, and wondered if some other car would have the same diameter pipe. Eg MGB? Any ideas much appreciated, cheers, Bill
mike ellis
Here's one supplier Bill I am sure there are others. www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/ducting. Apologies for the lack of a link, I believe I need to change browser.
Lebro
I used some pipe from a Triumph 2000 heater - same size, but made from plastic (with ribs in to make flexible) Bob.
Rodbr
If you aren't that bothered too much about originality. find an old vacuum cleaner tube and cut to length if necessary put some self amalgamating tape and tiewrap in place as required. Simples!
Don H.
TRF has 'em. P/Ns 602066, 602056 http://trf.zeni.net/webcatalog/specials7.17/12.php No experience with these parts -- my originals are in good shape, surprisingly.
Bob Smith
Bill, I used demister hoses from a T2000 mark 2 (Innsbruck) some 25 years ago still in good working order used clips to provide secure attecment to the demister ducts and heater
stuart
Vacuum cleaner hose works a treat. Stuart.
Rodbr
As suggested by Stuart and myself, probably more readily available on a hook somewhere in the stock of " I'll find a use for that at some point" stuff that litters most garages. http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd269/Rodbr/CIMG0827-1.jpg
Graham Harris
Moss do the original type, when i ordered them the longer one was in the wrong bin it was too big . I was getting some other parts from TRF so got one from them and it was the plastic type, i finished up getting the right one from Moss the second time arround. It's too messy to send things back when we are so far away.
