I replaced my brass disc as the insulating material between it and the dome had disintegrated. I used a piece of Printed circuit board (fibre glass or the common brown resin bonded board). The gap/void can be easily cut or etched away. .Copper rivets are easily found at model engineering store RIVET However simple Ali pop rivets work well.
