Peter Harper
I am restoring an Arizona dry state TR4 which I bought in the summer the seat frames are badly twisted and as a lot of members are switching to MX5 seats I was wondering if anyone has a pair of late 4 frames I have already got foams and covers to suit so don't want 4A . The normal sources have none so I am asking around the forum. Thanks Peter
AlanT
Post a picture. Maybe these would straighten out if you cant find better ones. I fixed 4A frames that were a bit stuffed: http://flickr.com/gp/90670218@N04/q5628h/ Edited November 18, 2013 by AlanT
Peter Harper
I am trying to get them straightened but if there are better frames out there I will take the easier route as I have so much to do. Thanks for the pictures. Peter
AlanT
If you do find some more check them for cracks. The material thickness, design and length of service suggest to me that many will be cracked.
Peter Harper
A local car repairer has used a jig and straightened them so I no longer need replacements now to clean respray and recover them. Thanks Peter
AlanT
This is a job for powder coating. This getting pulled into corners better than wet paint. Powder coaters usually also have blast clean prep. About £20 per frame.
Ian Lynam
Hi Peter, I have couple of late TR4 seat frames gathering dust in the garage. They are in fairly good condition and I don't think will require any welding. I'm situated just off the M1 near Nottingham. Give me ring if interested. 01773 719807 Ian
