KEL
Hi guys, what's the easiest way to remove paint.." car has been done twice over the top of old paint needs to be removed
Motorsport Mickey
Thermal stripping ? Avoids paint reaction against dipping in chemical stripping, depends how much of the car you wish to strip. Pete Fenlon on the TR4 forum has used Thermal stripping and has reported favourably, check out on the search facility. Mick Richards
Fireman049
Hi Kel ~ I had great success using 'Blackfriars' paint stripper ~ far better than 'Nitromorse'! Blackfriars really makes paint removal very easy. It cut through two top coats, thick primer filler and primer! Hope this helps ~ Regards ~ Tom.
stuart
Kel if you are doing the whole car or even just the outer panels then these guys are very good. http://www.envirostripukltd.com/ Stuart.
AlanT
I spent a couple of happy summer days stripping 4A boot lids. These had been re-painted several times and one was undersealed (inside of course). I took the underseal off with a Butane blowlamp. Not much fire! Dont do it inside!! For the rest I used the cheapest B&Q paint-stripper. This is not as irritant on your hands as Nitromors. It also does not dry up so quick if you are working on a hot day. It took three goes to get all the paint off and it might have gone in two with Nitromors. Might have! I quite like this product but may be not for a whole body. Richardtr3a
I used Nitromors in 1986 and it reacted with some damage to my new paint on the scuttle. It will need to be done again soon.
