riley1489
I am new to the forum - but not TRs. I have been offered the ex-Gooding TR7 V8. The vendor has been quite open about its history - but has described it as ex-works. So far I haven't found much record of its works history - am I not delving deep enough, or is its works provenance a little weak? I assume this is a well known car - whats the general concensus on this car? Cheers, Roger
Alec Pringle
Suggest you send a message to Chris Turner (as per link below) who knows more about the ex-works cars of all descriptions than most people, and I think you'll find he knows the detailed history and provenance of this one. http://www.tr-register.co.uk/forums/index.php?/user/1523-chris-turner/ Cheers Alec
riley1489
Thanks Alec, I have already sent Chris a message - and am awaiting a reply. I just wondered what anybody else thought? I beleive this car might have been floating around for a bit. Roger.
ChunkTR8
I think it was a works supported customer car, but i'm sure Chris may be able to confirm this.
chris turner
Roger, Alec, sorry but Ive just noticed this thread and haven't received your Email. My Email address is chris_turner53@hotmail.com. I think you are talking about Charles Goldings rally car which carried the family reg no MUC1D when used to great effect in the late 70s / early 80s. It was a Safety Devices shell supplied by Abingdon with a parts package but was never used by the factory. Like Ken Wood, Charles was helped by the factory(because of his family Triumph connections) but did not receive the same level of assistance received by Del Lines.
