mjc
I'm looking for the insulating sleeving to go over each wiring loom tag. What do people use these days and where can I get a length from? Many thanks Mike

RogerH
Hi Mike, if you get the heatshrink as a snug fit to the tag then do not shrink it - it may split. However it will stay there in the unshrunk condition. Otherwise, if you want to shrink it make sure it is on the biggish side before shrinking. Roger
Mark69
Hi Mike Try auto sparks they are a classic and vintage loom specialist, I remember reading about them on one of the posts recommended by Stuart. There web site looks very professional. Mark.
AlanT
The quality and wall thickness of heatshrink tubing varies a lot. This is good stuff and you buy per metre. http://uk.farnell.com/hellermann-tyton/305-12700/heatshrink-12-7mm-black-per-m/dp/824331 Can get all colurs including clear. stuart
Modern heat shrink usually shrinks by around 50%. Stuart.
AlanT
The standard shrink ratio is 2 to 1. Quite easy to get 3 to 1 and this is useful if you have forgotten to put the sleeve on the wire first! You can actually get 9 to 1. This is amazing to watch.
