cord
I remember the use of this bracket, on the steering rack bracket, being questioned before but not the answer, enlighten me again, please.
Stoker
I always understood that it was to insert a crowbar in the gap and lever the engine back slightly to make it easier to change the fan belt, at least that's what I use it for.
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Perhaps to stop the engine slipping forwards and the fan going through the radiator under severe braking???
James Rendell
It is an anticorrosion cleat. Contact Stella at Rimmingtons, she has a part number for an uprated unit. Trust me I know these things. See article in recent edition of Traction!
cord
Apologies for the late "thank you" for the submissions. . . I like the idea of the "anticorrosion cleat" and we can see, a great success!!
Dave McDonald
Stella Rimington, now Dame Stella Rimington, was a former Director General at MI5. Bit of a comedown selling TR bits! Mind you the post from "James" Rendell is probably a cover for Baroness Ruth Rendell, mystery and spy novelist. Got to be a connection there between the two of them. Treat it with caution.
