bad vibration

Got another problem with the car STUPID THING, so i need your help again

there is a vibration on acceleration at about 50 mph and above but not on decelaration

 

any ideas

Hi Ian,

have a look at the diff mounts. Also consider something going on inside the diff - The input pinion gets pushed and pulled depending on the accelerating forces.

 

Exhaust hitting chassis.

As the diff has been dropped recently I'd suspect the bolts on a diff flange to a UJ have loosened enough to let a drive shaft run a bit off-true.

Ian, I agree with Peter. A couple of weeks ago I drove to England, and the day before I came, I started getting a knock in the transmission. By the time I had driven the 400 odd miles to Sutton Coldfield, the knock was really bad. Turned out to be the inboard UJ on the LH driveshaft. Replacing it got rid of an annoying vibration I have had since I bought the car 6 years ago!
