Tim D.
Hi chaps, As I have the gearbox out being rebuilt I thought it was a good idea to check the clutch. My initial impression is that the cover is knackered at the very least. The covet is a laycock cover and shows significant signs of wear on the fingers from the TO bearing. So what's the best strategy for replacement. I see that laycock kits seem to be V expensive. Whereas Borg and beck are cheaper. Also I have read that there are problems with component quality. Particularly the TO bearings. What are the current thoughts? Tim
RobinTR6
I replaced all the above on two cars one in the last 2 month, got my bits from TRGB...they know their clutch bits, give tem a bell. BTW the first replacement was in for about 10K before I sold the car and was without issue. Again my new clutch plate etc is all operating as it should in the more recent job. Denis
I wouldn't go anywhere other than the TR Shop in Chiswick, what they don't know about TR's can be written on the head of a pin!
