Guest chris jameson
Hi all, Yes, I know all the argument regarding worn rocker arms and clikadjust, but I bought one anyway : ) I set the clearances at 10 and 10 (cold).....Ten thou equates to seven clicks for me. Can anybody with a clikadjust verify this please? Cheers, Chris 1960 TR3A TS 78655
jonlar
According to an article in the latest Practical Classics, each click = 1 thousandth of an inch.
Guest chris jameson
Thanks Jonlar, I must read the article...I have seen a small database of MGs and Austin Healeys using the clikadjust, but no TRs. The `clearance/click' ratio (if you will) should depend on the thread pitch, shouldn't it? Or are all those `British' adjustment screws of an identical pitch? I measured the clearances with a feeler gauge at 10 thou after I had used the clikadjust, so I believe that 7 clicks may be close to the mark.... I was just interested to see if other people had come up with the same value. It is quite a handy tool, but probably not essential. It makes the job a bit easier.... Cheers, Chris (novelty tool purchaser)
Andy Moltu
I would have thought that the number of clicks would vary from car to car depending on the pitch of the threads on the adjuster and the lift ration of the rockers
Guest chris jameson
Hmmm, We still have the August edition of PC on the shelves down here...have to wait for a couple of weeks.. Cheers, Chris
jonlar
I believe the Clikadjust would be calibrated to its own thread pitch, rather than relying on the vehicles', but Andy's point about about the lift ratio is a valid one.
