julian c
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions. My `3B, on start up, from cold or after a few hours, takes a few seconds for the oil pressure to build up. Over the years,I`ve got the hang of getting the engine not to fire up immediately so as to build some pressure up first, but its really annoying. I`ve been told it wasn`t possible for the oil to syphon itself from the filter housing, but carrying out an oil and filter change last week,I noticed the top of the filter was bone dry and very little oil in the filter housing itself.Obviously,I hadn`t run the engine before strip down. It really is driving me crackers and if I can`t sort this, then I would get a spin-on filter kit and sacrifice originality. Another problem I`ve had very recently is high oil pressure (around 80 PSI) at high speeds, whick comes down to normal (50 PSI) after about 30 mins running. Is all this related,or is it time to scrap the bloody thing and look for an RS 2600 Capri ? I hope I havn`t offended anyone with the last bit,`cos the TR`s been really good to me. ???
Dennis Nelson
The first thing you should do is have a shop check your oil pressure on real equipment to ensure that your pressure gauge hasn't entered a dimension of its own. They can do illogical things, and you can go nuts trying to figure out a pattern.
