Hood Repair

Hi Folks,

 

I need to get a repair done to my TR4 hood. The strip that fits under the header rail on the windscreen needs replacing in what is otherwise an excellent hood, as it seems to be broken in a number of places and one of the 'rivets' has also come out.

 

Can anyone recommend a firm that knows TR4 hoods and can replace and repair this?

The metal insert comes in three sections to allow the hood to be folded.

Thanks for this. Yes, I was aware of that, but my centre section is also in 4 pieces, making six pieces altogether.

You need 806696 MET from Moss plus the 'smash together rivets' to hold it all in place

So long as you do not need any sewing the job of renewing the metal strips is a doddle.

Hi Dave,

Not sure if this helps, but try PJM Motors in Market Drayton (on estate behind Countrywise store)- they are specialist trimmers and have done a couple of excellent repairs to my hood, seat recovering, trimming ect.

 

Hope Chomendley wasn't too wet!

 

My car back at last (clutch/gearbox/overdrive issues) so should be out and about now that the weather has reverted to winter!
