Having bought a new hood for the 3A five years ago, I am just about ready to fit it and, although the instructions are fairly clear there is no mention of what to do about the padded flap that runs along the inside front of the hood. Can anyone tell me if this is designed to lay along the top of the windscreen or should it be pierced along with the front of the hood and the fasteners pushed through both?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

With thanks

Pete

It should have holes in it in the same place as the tenax fasteners but they are only fitted to the outer layer and when fitting the hood the padded piece is folded down and placed over the pegs and then the fasteners attached. this provides extra water proofing along the front rail.

Thanks to Stuart and bringing this up Pete, another job to do as I have left the flap 'unpierced' and it just flops on the top rail of the screen. BTW Stuart if you read this all the cars in the South West were on the seafront at Teignmouth last Sunday over 80 in total, just got the news letter from the crashbox club.

Here are the holes I had to punch in the new Robbins top I bought from Roadster Factory in 1989. The holes line up with the pegs that are located along the top of the frame for the windscreen and are pressed down around the hexagon part of each peg before pushing the outer push-cap down onto the peg.
