Guest benran
Hi I now own a 1960 TR3A, and I have a problem with gear stick rattling, I have replace the spring and small round metal grommet at the bottom of the stick, but it is still rattling, it has help but not stopped. I was at a local meeting today, and I was told that Stanpart bid a mod for the gear stick to stop the rattling, dose any one know of this mod, Many thanks Dave
clive
Silly question? Greased the selector?
unclepete
dave i've got the same thing (although its not too bad) been told to leave it untill winter as 'it is nothing serious and they all do it to some extent' it requires removing the gearbox tunnel - taking off the selector top section of the gearbox - checking each of the spring loaded selector ball bearings (these locate into indentations in each of the selector shafts) and teasing out the springs or replacing them as required. not too fiddly a job but it means the cars in bits and not on the road?
