CJG
I have just taken delivery of a replacement Surrey Top vinyl hood. Unfortunately, it came without the Durable Dot fasteners to secure the corners to the screen frames. I have sourced some of these fasteners, but how do I fit them? Do I need special tools, do I need to make holes in the hood? Grateful for any advice..... Regards, CJG
RogerH
quite often hoods, tonneaus etc come without fasteners/holes so as to allow accurate alignment on the car. The durable dot fasteners are not the correct ones (I think I'm right). You need the normal popper stud. Fitting the male on the frames is easy (pop rivet down the middle). The female requires a spreader punch (hollow centre pin) and dolly for the outside head. Fit the females to the hood first then the males to the frames. Roger
lynchpin
Hi Had new front fasteners fitted by a very helpful local trimmer in Portsmouth, charged me a couple of quid to add to their tea boat only took them a couple of minutes. Try searching out someone local to you.. Phil..
