i bought a new rear one from moss. as i left the shop the bloke behind the countewr said,

they are guaranteed against corrosion for 12 months.

12 months later but only 6 months on the car the right hand started to bubble and the left one 6 months later.

went back and complained and the young lad behind the counter said they were all like that?

HI lads

i thought they were £500 each not per set

interesting that the later ones (without the holes) are £120 extra

like Dave says a spot of negotiation required

thanks everyone looks like Stainless bumpers for me

dont suppose anyone has them and a compariaon to the original chrome type ??

cheers

Hi David,

I've recently fitted SS steel bumpers ( from the Harrington Group) to my TR6 and am very happy with them. They are a good fit, very well made and highly polished. They were shipped and delivered by DHL without any problems.

A bonus is the fact that they can be easily repaired should they get dented ;) .

Cheers,

Tim

Guy

Would love to see a picture of the rear of your car without a bumper.

Are you going to put "spots" on the front "towel rail" or are you leaving it as it is?

Regards

Peter

good idea that but up north in Sunderland we have a nice beach but the towel rail would need to be bigger to hang her sheepskin coat on (bloody freezing even in summer) :D

used to do the Boxing day dip for charity when i was younger now theres a task scrap the frost off the TR first :o

Here ya go

Cheers Re Spots... Problem for me in fitting spots is that they may obscure some of the number plate and or indicator, so will probably leave as is for time being.

I replace mine last year and have a set (front and Back with medallion bars 1972 TR6) I would like to donate them to someone. On a scale of 1 to 10 the bumpers are an 8. The medallion bars are in worse shape and I would only give them a 4. Let me know if you are intrested.

Re the stainless steel alternative

In the current Practical Classics magazine, in the "our cars" section, one of the guys has just fitted a set of stainless bumpers from Harrington on to his Daimler SP250.

He describes them as arriving quickly, fitting very well and looking superb.

When I need some bumpers, I will certainly go the stainless option.

Regards

Peter
