Hi,

TR4 have been equipped with AUD878 SU H6 first and later with AUD209 SU HS6.

I'm not talking about the short termed Strombergs (may-october '63).

First you should check what type you really need, then "Google image" will give you all the SU pics you need. For permanent paper data, buy the Haynes book on SUs. Excellent.

Have fun...

These pics show a TR4A setting with the long manifold. As you requested a TR4 setting, knowing they have become quite unfrequent I directed you towards Google image where I know there are a few samples.

In fact the TR4 setting is identical to the TR3 setting, with the front end of the short inlet manifold bearing a pivot for the throttle linkage.

Cheers,

A word of caution: the long-bodied H6 on a long inlet manifold plus filters might bang against the wheel arch.

Of course the short manifold is an option but it requires a lot of grinding to be efficient.

In my case long manifold and long Carb (H6) not only banged wheel arch but dented it. Plus linkages were all wrong.

This was how my car was when I got it, I assume PO upgraded manifold to 4A not realsing needed HS6 carbs, then bodged it all together. All correct now. These before and after pix may be useful
