TR6/2500pi J TYPE OVERDRIVE BOX FOR A TR4?

Recommended Posts

I have the chance to buy a rebuilt tr6 /2500 j type overdrive box ,with the intention to put in my 62 tr4. Could someone tell me if all the pressure plate clutch fork slave cylinder etc are compatible, and is there anything i need to know, before I commit to buy.

Any response will be very welcome.

Thanks, Andy

Hi Andy,

My Recollection is that the Triumph 2000 primary shaft is different diamter, otherwise all is same. That would mean to use the Tri2000 driven plate... or swap out the primary shafts.

maybe someone can confirm as I havent thought about this seriously for 10 yrs....
