gilles
Hello, I am looking for a boot rack for my Triumph TR3 What are the types that are existing today ? I have seen somewhere a boot rack that do not need to drill the boot and can be fixed to the hinges on the "upper" part of the boot. But what about the fixing system on the bottom part of the boot ? Please, let me know advises and show me yours ! Thanks a lot Gilles

rogeraero
Hi Gilles, I bought mine from the TR Shop in Chiswick. The top fixing uses the boot lid hinges and I made a simple bracket that fits around the boot lock and is fixed by a fog light bracket to the bottom end of the rack...there is no drilling in the boot lid at all. I hope this is clear! Roger
gilles
Hi Gilles,I bought mine from the TR Shop in Chiswick. I hope this is clear! Roger Dear Rogeraero, For sure it is clear, but would you have the possibility to send me a picture of the boot rack and one of the special bracket that you made. I have seen some boot rack for which you need to drill the boot lid. I do not want them I have seen some with nothing more than a simple black plastic cap but I was wondering wether it can not damage the boot lid. Thanks for all Nobody else has a boot rack ?? BrianC
Check out the various postings on 'Bootbag' on this Forum for an excellent alternative to a boot-rack.
Menno van Rij
I have a boot rack on the shelf. Bought at a boot sale (pun not intended). There's a guy overhere in Holland fabricating useful parts for TRs. This was his latest invention. The rack comes unchromed. I considered powder coating the rack in the same colour as my wheels. However, there's a lot of 'ifs' and 'buts' about boot racks, destroying the hinges etc. That's the reason that I haven't installed the rack! The top part of the rack is the same as any other rack. It's the bottom part that's different. Menno Perhaps this helps: Edited June 6, 2009 by Menno van Rij
