alanprice Posted May 8, 2009 Report Share Posted May 8, 2009 obviously not then YES HI the main reason for lack of response may be that since the demise of the Register race championship 2 years ago, those still racing the V8's will now be with the Classic & Sports Car Club Future Classics series and quite possibly no longer (or less) involved with the TR Register, I don't know? I thought hard before renewing my Register membership, my social/road car connection petered out many years ago. I get the impression that the membership doesn't generally have an interest in racing and where they do, it seems to be slanted towards the 'classic' TR's and especially nostalgia of past achievements. Still I would have thought someone else would have been back to you by now, perhaps from the Register's own Hillclimb/Sprint Championship, which is still going strong. If you literally meant circuit racing though, let me know if I can advise you on anything you have in mind to do, otherwise contact the Register, Mike Hughes is the Competition contact. Or look up the CSCC website, if you want. There might possibly someone racing in another series that I don't know of. I'm also happy to discuss my car (well most of it or general preparation. I started sprinting in '91, then moved on to circuit racing in my 3.9 convertible in '97. I still love doing it and the CSCC series is great, because you get 40min races and 2 in Europe (Spa and the 'Ring). Cheers Quote Link to post Share on other sites

alanprice Posted May 8, 2009 Report Share Posted May 8, 2009 OK some more info before I fall asleep : CSCC Future Classics - John Wolfe, Simon Cowing, Craig Jepson, Martyn Adams (just had two top 3 finishes), Mark Richards (off to Spa in July) all V8's, Mark Humphries in a 2ltr 8v. + me + ? TR Register involvement? not a lot obviously! Graham Miller/Colin Pendle, multiple winners of the TR race championship, now confine themselves to one/two races in Europe a year, nothing to do with Register any more. The hillclimb fraternity, there's a posting about Harewood on the Competition Forum. Rallying - not sure I think TREnterprises still run a V8 and they are a major Register specialist/advertiser Hope some of my ramblings help, get back to me if you want anything more definite Cheers Quote Link to post Share on other sites
