Perhaps it was the precursor of the 'Jockanese Tartan' used so successfully in the TR7 when that car was first manufactured.  I do recall a very helpful 'HowTo..' article in the TR Newsletter regarding modernising your old TR interior to look like the latest fashion offering from Triumph in 1975/6.  It involved a pack of felt tip pens and a damaged ruler.

PS Moss USA used to have some interior kit in the metric trim at their trim shop samples area in Lompoc.
