  1. I might be interested, not been to Beaulieu is years!
  2. Good question Bob. I might be prepared to 'camp' if all that was actually entailed was a self erecting tent, sleeping bag, beers :-) Steve
  3. I land back at gatwick at about 23:00 on the 7th...... So all being well I should be able to make it down! Probably just for the day though, don't do camping :-o Hope to catch up with many of you at Stockmans, I'll be the brown one having been sailing Amita in the med for a week :-) Steve
  4. Ooh, I'd forgotten about this, will try to make it ( if we can get up early enough.....) Steve
  5. Not much response to this thread, who else is coming ?

I like the IOW! We have a lovely weekend last fee touring around, lots of coffee stops to warm up but great fun :-) How about a summer meet up ? Steve
  7. Roger, here is the view down from the top of Amita's mast...... eek ! Look out for a 'TRing and SAILing' thread later in the year :-) steve
  8. Good too meet you too Alan and Roger! We had a nice drive out to Woodford to see my mum, then blasted back around the M25 :-) Just stopped off for a Chinese and home at last.
  9. Weather looking good for tomorrow so THIS IS A GO! I plan to drive into London from Chertsey, leaving at 10am. We will park up near St Katherine Dock, meter and single line parking are free on Sundays so will park in St Katherine Way or Thomas Moore Street, should be there before 11:30. We will get the heating on Amita going, and the kettle on! So, do come along if you fancy a drive up in the sunshine and a chat, I'll make sure we have enough tea/coffee/biscuits aboard. Amita is moored in the east dock, behind the Dickens Inn, so that's a good place to meet, several decent
  10. Ok. Ill take another look at the weather on Saturday and post an update ! Steve
  11. So the weather is presently pretty disgusting but I have it on good authority that the sun will make an appearance over London Town on Sunday, with temp around 10c ! If so then I'm up for a blast into town in the '6 :-) I'm thinking of a late morning to midday rendezvous for a coffee etc, thus leaving the afternoon free to get home and put the car to bed ! Who else fancies it?
  12. Hi again Mixed weather continues but at least its not snowing ! I still plan to take the TR up to SKD on Sunday February 2nd, as long as its dryish. Shall check the weather forecast next week, but hopefuly see a few of you on the 2nd for Tea, Cake and a chat :-) Steve
  13. Well, the weather for this weekend looks pants..... so how about rescheduling this for next month when hopefully the floods will have subsided :-) This is therefore rescheduled to February 2nd, I will post updates nearer the time but hopefully we can meet up for a coffee in the early spring sunshine ;-)
  14. Ok guys, let's take a final view on the weather on Friday.
  15. Hi hardy winter TRers! Weather for Sunday might be OK, presently sun/showers is forecast. I shall post an update on Thursday when the forecast will be more reliable, in the meantime who thinks they might come if it's dryish? Steve
  16. Hi Everyone No Joy from the management at St Katherine Dock unfortunately, apparently its 'not possible' to let us park for an hour or two. I plan to be up in london that weekend anyway, so if the weather is looking favourable then i shall still take the TR up. Parking will either be in the Waitrose underground car park or on the street in the absence of anything better. I will have a look at the weather forecast midweek and post again on here to let people know. It would be great to meet up with any hardy souls who dare to brave the london roads midwinter, free tea/coffee/
  17. Hi everyone. I've asked St Katherine Dock if we can park in the pedestrian area, but not had a response yet. In any case there are several parking options, so that won't be a problem. I shall canvass for definite attendees nearer the time, early Jan to have a better view on the weather! In the meantime do feel free to register your interest! Steve
  18. Thanks for the replies chaps ! Now that there does seem to be some interest I shall inquire as to the possibility of dedicated parking in the usually Pedestrian Only area. Otherwise there is on street parking, free on sundays, or the Waitrose Car Park. I inquired at the Hotel but they weren't keen to dedicate a space as apparently they're busy on a sunday with coaches. Present plan is January 5th, midday, for lunch at the Dickens inn. Steve PS, this is two days before my 50th birthday....... OMG !
  19. Update : Date changed to Feb 2nd due to inclement weather !! I'm spending quite a bit of time this winter in St Katherine Dock, next to Tower Bridge, and thought it would make a great venue for a winter meet! Being as it's so central perhaps this would be a great opportunity for the various groups around London, or further afield, to get together? I'm thinking of a Sunday lunchtime meet, so as to minimise traffic and avoid the Congestion Charge, and allow the trip to be completed in daylight for many. I would host a coffee (etc!) on Amita, and / or we could go to the Dickens Inn for lun
