The Racetorations alloy cover actually uses an o-ring real
my car came to me in 2012 with the racetorations cover but with a bodged cork gasket.
Darryl at racetorations sent me a new o-ring which i stuck in to the groove with a little instant gasket and then oiled, it’s work perfectly ever since

With those symptoms on a points setup I would replace the condenser.
these little ba$tards cause no end of weird symptoms and are cheap to replace.

Those are lovely Toby, good work!
do these fit the fake minilites or only the genuine ones
i have a set of Minator fakes, which could do with new centres….

I fitted the CDD cv shafts, hubs , and also the larger studs, to my 6 almost 10 years ago now.
i had a gaiter split but other than that they have been faultless.
as mentioned above the ride improvement is very noticeable, the rear suspension works under load unhindered by spline lock
it’s your car/choice but like everyone else i woild avoid reconditioned hubs.

I’d love to throw my ‘6 around the track again this year Kev but am moving house that week and it’s too fraught to bunk off for a day sadly
hope you get booked up and the sun shines !

Ive used the gunsons eezibleed quite a lot, the pressure must be below 10psi, 5 is enough, and then ot works great.

If you don’t find one to modify i have a modified one you could borrow

Yes its a simple job.
one potential complexity is there are 2 types of injector, push fit and screw in
this just refers to how the injector fits into the white plastic holder.
many cars, mine included, ended up with a mixture….. so when i had them refurbished i asked for a set of all push fit to be returned.
this just makes maint simpler in the future , the injectors are the same apart from the mounting.
good luck !

Well said Trev, the endemic focus on £ value totally misses the point of old cars.
I love my tr6 and don’t give a stuff what £ value it has !

Its a good point.
calcium batteries also have a requirement for higher charge voltage, 14.7v
my car was fitted with one in 2012 when i bought it and that’s still going strong!

I fitted the tune+ back in about 2016?
the unit has been 100% reliable as far as the engine running and performinghowever the app and rev limiter have been disappointing
the app seems to work ok on Apple but i never managed to make it work reliably on Android
the rev limiter does work but seems to be off as to the revs it applies at

When I fitted purple Superpro poly bushes many years ago I was under the impression they had the same stiffness as the original rubber. There were alternatives which were stiffer. Is that now not the case? All I noticed on my car was lots of missing noise - no increase in harshness.
J
Yes, i remember red, blue and yello poly.
and the front mounts on my 6 are yellow
But these days blue superpro seems de-rigeur

Only had a short test drive so far and couldnt notice any more noise
the poly’s are stiffer than the rubber mounts so we’ll see how the ally dif housing fares over time
i do drive the 6 ‘enthusiastically’ including the odd track day

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, long time no post for me !
so many hobbies and so little time ….
After the Castle Combe trackday last May my TR6 developed a ‘clonk’ when taking up drive.
after doing nothing about this for ages, best practice i know, last week i took it to the local mot place and borrowed their inspection pit.
was hoping / expecting a worn prop uj, or maybe driveshaft cv…. But these were all fine.
the diff has some backlash but thats been the same for the 10 years i’ve owned it!
testing in and out of 1st/reverse with the engine running the rear of the diff moved up and down quite a bit.
back in 2013 i fitted new rubber rear mounts, the fronts are poly ( i was advised this combo was a good compromise between control and noise)
Today i replaced the old mounts with superpro blue poly mounts…. And the clonk is gone !
easy job apart from getting the exhaust box off, it was happy in the car and reluctant to leave !
the old mounts were shot, the inner steel tube being detached from the rubber.
heres a few pics :

Only buy spark plugs from a proven safe supplier many fakes on the market
Too right!
i spent ages trying to get an old honda motorcycle to run properly after a rebuild, turns out the ‘ngk’ plugs were useless fakes!
on the tr6 i use the Bosch multi electrode plugs and they have been in for years with no attention or trouble.

Rog makes a great point
i have a Tune+ and am happy with it but the ability to switch between 2 maps would be very useful

Really interesting thread as my car does exactly the same thing !
injectors were refurbished by Neil F so i trust them, but the MU came with the car 10 years ago so os suspect.
i do also have braided lines……
