  1. Result! However, you meant it WAS set at 11 deg atdc but NOW corrected to 11 deg btdc. Tim
  2. I looked at an early TR3 today, Commission no TS9736. The certified copy of the factory production record gives the date of build as 9/1/56 and yet the date of first registration as shown on the duplicate of the original log book is given as 9/5/56, could the car maybe have been a dealer demonstrator? The Destination (dealer) on the factory record is Rossleigh Limited. Does that name mean anything to anyone? I note that the original registration number was issued in Sheffield. The duplicate log book gives the engine number as TS10152 (no mention of the 'E' suffix) but the car has engin
  3. Yes indeed, I also valued the Moss catalogue highly for the excellent technical tips Tim
  4. This means we can kiss goodbye to the excellent FREE Moss parts catalogues. They are sure to fall victim to the pressure to drive cost out of the business.
  5. +1 I adopt the same technique as Pete after every oil & filter change and find that it can take 20 secs of cranking at least before I see 50+ psi on the oil pressure gauge. Tim

    Oil cooler

Use in conjunction with an in line thermostat. From memory this opens at 74 degs C so will not over cool oil from a cold start. Tim

However, one frustration is that these arms cannot be pulled away from the screen and be retained in place, as can the original type of arm, facilitating cleaning of the screen or testing the wiper operation. Strangely, wedge lock arms for the TR6 do have this facility, as shown. Tim
  9. Wasn't sure where to post this since not TR specific. Since moving to a top floor flat last year car washing has become an issue - I really miss my hose reel and mains power washer! Until I spotted the attached ad in the latest Roadsmart magazine I didn't know that cordless pressure washers existed. The ad prompted an Internet search and I see there are several such power washers now on the market, Screwfix for one seems more competitive than the Aguri item. Does anyone on here have experience of a cordless power washer for car washing and can you point me in the right direction? Will a b
  10. I want to replace my original 2.2W instrument bulbs with LED alternatives for lower power consumption and a cleaner, whiter light. I obtained some Type 1 bulbs and these are fine for the ignition, direction indicator and main beam warning lights. However, being very directional they are useless for illuminating the speedo and tacho. For these I purchased some bulbs as Type 2 with side mounted LEDs and they give excellent results. All these bulbs are quite easy to fit with no dismantling necessary. I now want to fit Type 2 bulbs to the four other instruments and in order to get access to do
